The Bowlus Fine Arts Center will have a jam-packed night of entertainment on Saturday. The Center will feature a local artist and William Gibson’s “The Miracle Worker.”
A reception for H.J. “Skip” Kreibach, Le Roy, will start at 6 p.m. in the Mary L. Martin Gallery. Skip grew up in Chicago and attended college in Wisconsin earning a degree in education. He joined the Marine Corps and was commissioned in 1968. He started teaching computer science in 1995 at Allen Community College.
Kreibach began taking art classes at the college. He has participated in art shows and received third place in the professional division at the 2013 Kansas State Fair. His prints are available through a gift shop in Burlington.
Skip and his wife, Nancy, of 48 years, have two children and nine grandchildren. They reside on a farm east of Le Roy. His work will remain in the gallery until March 28.
The Montana Repertory Theatre Company will present “The Miracle Worker” at 7:30 p.m. on the Bowlus stage. The production tells the story of Hellen Keller and her tutor Annie Sullivan. Helen had been blind and deaf since she took ill as a baby. Unable to see or hear causes Helen to become angry and sometimes violent. Annie, 20, is determined to connect to Helen.
Throughout the play the audience will see Helen blossom and learn to communicate with others.
